Okere Falls and Boyes Beach Run

19 Feb

The recent Cyclone meant a change of destination for our February run.  Instead of the Tri Run in Te Aroha  with Auckland and Waikato Clubs, we headed over the hill to Rotorua.  First stop was Okere Falls, where we enjoyed a leisurely bush walk and were awed by the power of the water in the Kaituna River.  Water levels were high after the Cyclone so there was no rafting over the dramatic waterful to be seen.  We then went on to a picnic lunch at Boyes Beach, Lake Okareka.  A lovely, relaxing day out.
