About Us

The Bay of Plenty Mustang Owners’ Club was founded in Tauranga in 2002 by a small group of Mustang enthusiasts keen to share the love of their cars and the fun of being part of a group of like-minded people.

Since those early days, the Club has grown to a membership of 130 represented by around 150 cars!

The Club enjoys regular monthly runs to a wide variety of venues.  These may include visits to collectors’ sheds and memorabilia museums, picnics, boot lunches, fun activities, and car shows.  We like to vary the length of runs and from time to time enjoy a longer day out or a weekend away.

Club Nights are a recent addition to our calendar. These include an update on the Club status followed by an interesting chat from an invited guest and supper.

Our main event of any year is the All USA Day Car Show which we host at Classic Flyers, Mt Maunganui, in November each year.  This show is open to American cars of all marques, with owners travelling from as far as Auckland and the lower North Island to show off their pride and joy.  Cars are judged in a variety of categories and trophies presented at the end of the day. 

Labour Weekend sees the National Mustang Convention take place, hosted each year by one of the seven Clubs associated with NZ Mustang.  BOPMOC members participate with enthusiasm in the weekend’s events and car show and lasting friendships are made with club members from other parts of the country.

The advent of the “new Mustang” in 2015 has seen a surge in membership in Mustang Clubs nationwide, and BOPMOC is no exception.  We are proud to include 19641/2 to the very latest Mustangs, Shelbys, Bosses, Roush & Californian Specials in our stable.  We warmly welcome all owners and their cars to our stable.
