Club Night
On Wednesday 12th of March the BOP Mustang Owners Club held its Club night at a new venue, The Oak Tree Restaurant in Gate Pa. Approximately 45 Club members attended, and we enjoyed a delicious buffet meal and presentation afterwards. The dinner was especially good, as it was a buffet and we all had a good opportunity to get a good variety of food. In particular, highlights were the sliced off the bone cooked ham and the very tasty dessert bar that went down a treat with the sweet toothed.
After dinner we headed into the side meeting room, which was nice and quiet, to hear all about the plans for Thunder Ridge, the new raceway planned for TECT Park. The Park is located on SH36, halfway between Tauranga and Rotorua and is set to be a racing park for all grass-roots to more experienced motor racing enthusiasts. Our guest speaker Roger Williams, Director of the new Thunder Ridge Motor Sport Park, gave an interesting and thorough presentation of what is on the cards for the new facility. This includes of course a track, club rooms, cafe, and individual garages (available for purchase). It sounds really exciting and hopefully will be good to go mid 2026! We cant wait to get out there and exercise the ponies!
