Fish and Chip Run June 2024
Sometimes when it rains, it makes the inside meet ups even cosier, and that is what happened at the Fish and Chip Run held at the Ohope Chartered Club on Sunday 23th June.
The Club run started in Rotorua (for those from that area) and Tauranga Crossing (for the Tauranga bunch) and both groups met at the the Whakatane Hub, where we had a warming coffee at Columbus Coffee. After a convivial atmosphere and lots of catching up chit chat, we headed to Ohope Chartered Club, with 1XX Radio Announcer. With it literally hosing down outside, we enjoyed the company of fellow club members inside the warm and inviting Club. After fish and chips we heard from Cheryl Renouf from MTF Whakatane as how to get financing advice for your next mustang. We also had a whip around and we raised $200 for a local charity, and we had 4 lucky number prize draws and as well as the best car on the day, which was awarded to Paul Robinson. And just as we headed home, the clouds cleared and the blue sky emerged for a spirited sprint along the Eastern Link Highway.
Thanks Heather and Charles for a great day out, and for all your good work organising your final tour of duty as Club Run Orgainisers.
